Engineering Skills

We collaborate with our customers during the design phase of their products. We can receive 2D drawings or 3D CAD files in IGES, .step, and .dwg formats using Pro Engineer, Unigraphics, and Mechanical Desktop software.

We provide prototype services that begin with computer simulated 3D model views that proceed into SLA models and other rapid prototyping methods.

rototype castings are furnished Pin plaster cast, sand cast, investment cast, and soft tool die castings depending upon part complexity, time and budget.

Part structural integrity is optimized with finite element analysis. Production tooling design is optimized through fluid flow and thermal solidification analysis.

Die Casting

With 21 die casting machine cells ranging from 400 to 650 tons of locking force, we can typically produce castings to 13 pounds (5.9 kilograms) and 120 square inches (775 square centimeters) projected area.

We cast 380, 360, 383, 413, and 390 aluminum alloys from certified ingot. Our in-house spectrometer verifies metal chemistry and is tracked by heat.

Yoder is experienced in casting in bearings, liners, and other inserts to improve surface strength and wear resistance. We cast loose pieces in the casting die to provide greater design flexibility.

Machining

With the precious cost of capital, today’s customers prefer not to invest into equipment to machine die castings. They want single ownership on the product so there is no conflict of responsibility for casting versus machining discrepancies.

Yoder’s knowledge in close tolerance machining has enabled it to stand out in its industry as being the center of expertise in complex CNC milling and turning as well as drilling, tapping, boring, reaming, and threading.

Finishes and Coatings

In-house finishes include vibratory deburring and media blasting. With our qualified suppliers, we offer polishing, painting (wet coat and powder), plating, and anodizing.

With the focus of our sales and engineering team to understand the full scope of the product application, Yoder has been able to provide complete sub-assemblies, managing outside services and components supply chain, which enables its customers to have one-stop-shop with Yoder Die Casting.
